It goes without saying that being one of Australia's pioneering female jockeys and a group one winning trainer, Paula Barron has achieved a lot in her career so far.

Overcoming challenges in both of those vocations comes with the territory and although this may not be the greatest challenge to-date, 'bad barriers' continue to be one of her enduring pet hates.

Six-year-old mare Music Fever is among seven horses that Barron has currently in-training and starts second-up in the Fertpro Class 2 Handicap (1200m) at Ipswich on Thursday from barrier nine.

"I'm hoping though I'm not 100% happy with the barrier but she is fit and healthy so I am hoping she can carry it forward," Gold Coast-based Barron said. READ MORE
