Local trainers celebrate 2024-25 season New

The Ipswich Turf Club celebrated the conclusion of the 2024-25 racing season with its local trainers last Friday, with John Hubbard crowned the club’s leading conditioner for the past 12 months.
Unfortunately John was sidelined on the day and couldn’t attend, but his wife Sue was able to accept the award on his behalf.
A host of other local trainers joined in, enjoying lunch and drinks ahead of the racing action, which featured a seven race card.
The local flavour continued when Ipswich trainer Jesse Townsend led in Papal Wars a winner at the juicy odds of $16.
Going by the amount of cheering heard from the Trackside bar, it would seem Jesse had shown a good level of confidence in the gelding’s chances!
