THE Ipswich Turf Club will be raising money for local jockey Emily Pomfrett at next Saturday’s Recovery Raceday with a big sausage sizzle.
Emily sustained head and leg injuries in a recent raceday incident and faces a long road to recovery.
Ipswich has been home to two Saturday meetings already in January and a big celebration is planned for next Saturday, January 27, with Ipswich home to Queensland’s Provincial meeting that day.
As part of the festivities, the Club is having a sausage sizzle, where patrons are asked to donate a gold coin to raise funds for Emily.
The fundraiser is being done in conjunction with the Queensland Racing Industry Support Program (QRISP) and QRISP has generously kicked off the fund with an initial $500 donation.
